Burundian striker Fiston Abdul Razak’s future is hanging in the balance as he approaches the end of his contract with Mamelodi Sundowns, which is due to expire at the end of the season.
Abdul Razak has been on loan at Bloemfontein Celtic since the beginning of last year, having had his initial short-term deal with Phunya Sele Sele extended at the end of the 2015/16 campaign.
In a Celtic team that has struggled in front of goal this season, the 25-year-old has scored just three times in all competitions, with two of those coming in the Nedbank Cup win over Mbombela United this week.
KickOff.com can confirm that, when Abdul Razak joined Sundowns from Kenyan club Sofapaka, he had signed a two-year contract with the option of another 36 months, stretching the total deal to five years.
And, that initial two-year deal runs up at the end of June.
While Sundowns generally have a penchant for exercising the options on their players' contracts, there has been no confirmation from the club as yet over whether they will be extending Abdul Razak’s stay at Chloorkop.
Through his brief at Sundowns, Abdul Razak scored once in two starts, with that single strike coming on debut against Celtic – the club he is currently on loan to.
