Steve Komphela expects difficult match against Bloemfontein Celtic

Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela believes that Bloemfontein Celtic have improved a lot since the arrival of Belgian coach Luc Eymael.

Celtic have picked up four points in their last two games, including a crucial draw away from home against Mamelodi Sundowns a week ago.

Amakhosi, meanwhile, go into this evening's match against Siwelele at the Dr Molemela Stadium in high spirits, after also beating The Brazilians 2-1 in their last league encounter.

Komphela has admitted that Celtic have always been a difficult opponent for his side, after being held to a 0-0 draw at FNB Stadium in the reverse fixture in December, and expects a similarly close encounter in Bloemfontein tonight.

"They are very difficult [to play against]. They are doing well now," said Komphela. "And also they have Luc with them now, and you have seen how they are getting results lately.

"It's going to be difficult [to beat them]. Matches between us and Celtic are not easy."

The Phefeni Glamour Boys are expected to pin their hopes on Venezuelan striker Gustavo Paez, who came off the bench to score two goals in their 2-1 win over third-tier side Acornbush United in the Nedbank Cup on Sunday.

"He [Paez] did well. What we said about him has not changed. He did well and scored two beautiful goals," said Komphela.

"His movement off the ball, everytime he comes in, helps us a lot. It's exactly what we said about him earlier."
