Orlando Pirates coach Kjell Jonevret has eased concerns surrounding Abbubaker Mobara after the utility player took a knock in the 4-1 win over Free State Stars in the Nedbank Cup.

Mobara was stretchered off late into the last-16 tie at James Motlatsi Stadium on Saturday, casting his participation in doubt for tonight's league clash with Maritzburg United at Orlando Stadium (19h30).

Jonevret, however, says the former Ajax Cape Town man escaped serious injury.

"It was just a hit. Nothing was broken. He had difficulty to breathe," Jonevret told

The Swede was tight-lipped on his selections for this evening, but indicated his weekend side did little wrong in Orkney.

“We have to wait and see. It is not gonna be easy to take out anybody from the starting line up for the game [against Maritzburg]. All of them played very well. There were a lot of happy faces after the game on Saturday. Hopefully they can bring a little of what they did against Free State Stars.

"It will be fun again to play at home. I think we have not played at home for four to five weeks and it will be nice to be at Orlando Stadium again," he added.
