SuperSport United to fine Mnyamane

SuperSport United coach Stuart Baxter says the club will fine in-form striker Thabo Mnyamane following his sending off against KwaDukuza United last night.
Mnyamane came on in the 65th minute of their 2-0 Nedbank Cup last-16 win, replacing goal scorer Mandla Masango as Baxter looks to rotate his squad, but the forward lasted all of 20 minutes before referee Lwandile Mfiki showed him a straight red card for stamping on an opposition player.
Matsatsantsa were, by that point, already comfortably heading through to the quarter-finals, barring the most unlikely of turnarounds by the ABC Motsepe League side, after Mandla Masango and Aubrey Modiba had both scored unanswered goals in either half at Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium.
In his first season with the Pretoria-based outfit, Mnyamane has scored seven goals in all competitions, which also prompted his recent Bafana Bafana recall, but this week’s dismissal will come as a big blow for SuperSport as he'll now miss the all-important double header against PSL and African champions Mamelodi Sundowns, on April 13 [away] and April 19 [home].
Unsurprisingly, Baxter was left less than impressed with Mnyamane's actions and subsequent repercussions, and said the club will also deal with him internally.
"Very disappointing. Very disappointing and not just for that [missing the Sundowns games] and the result of that discipline, but for him to do that [stamp on an opponent] in the first place; I don't expect my players to do that and he'll be fined," said the coach.
Baxter did, however, confirm Mnyamane will be part of the traveling squad that will play Barrack Young Controllers of Liberia in the first leg of their CAF Confederation Cup play-off clash at Antoinette Tubman Stadium in Monrovia on Sunday.
