Daniel Cardoso: Kaizer Chiefs treating Nedbank Cup opponents Acornbush United like they are Sundowns

Posted: 4 April 2017 Time: 13:53

Kaizer Chiefs defender Daniel Cardoso says they will treat the Nedbank Cup last-16 tie against Acornbush United like they are preparing for a match with African champions Mamelodi Sundowns.

Chiefs will face the ABC Motsepe League Mpumalanga stream champions - who beat Absa Premiership leaders Cape Town City in the cup - at Kabokweni Stadium on Sunday (15h00).

"We are going to approach the game like any other game. We are not gonna undermine them," says Cardoso.

"Even though they are Vodacom League, we are gonna take the game as if it's an Ajax or a Mamelodi Sundowns team. We are not going to underestimate them because they did beat Cape Town City and Cape Town City are flying this season."

Amakhosi, who are third in the topflight standings with eight matches left, enter the contest with confidence after defeating Sundowns 2-1 in the league on the weekend.
