Report: Ex-Baroka striker Geofrey Massa calls time with Uganda

Posted: 29 March 2017 Time: 15:01

Ex-Baroka striker Geofrey Massa has reportedly retired from international football nearly three months after captaining Uganda at the 2017 AFCON.

Massa, 31, earned over 80 caps after making his international debut against Ghana in September 2005, and is Uganda’s all-time Nations/World Cup qualifying top scorer with 12 goals.

"I have decided to retire from the national team after consulting with my family and I believe it’s the right time to start a new chapter," Massa is quoted as saying to New Vision.

“It has been a wonderful experience for me and I am grateful to have served my country at the best of my abilities. I will make a formal communication when I arrive in the country tomorrow (today)."

Massa remains on the hunt for a club after leaving Baroka in February.
