Tony Pulis reveals Arsene Wenger's desire to continue at Arsenal

Posted: 20 March 2017 Time: 17:05

West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Pulis has revealed that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger told him he wants to stay at the Gunners beyond the end of the current season.

The Baggies handed Wenger's side their sixth defeat in nine games with a 3-1 win at the Hawthorns on Saturday, but despite Arsenal's problems, the Frenchman seems set on continuing.

Wenger's current contract expires at the end of the season which has fueled speculation about his future, but Pulis has stated that the 67-year-old tactician told him he wants to pen a new deal.

“I’ll be surprised if he goes. Because he told me [he wants to stay],” Pulis told The Sun. “I think he’s the greatest manager Arsenal have ever had.

“They could finish in the top four and win an FA Cup. That’s not too bad is it?

“I don’t think respect counts now. People live for today. If you’re asking me what Arsenal should or shouldn’t do, I’m the wrong person.”
