Barcelona boss Luis Enrique: Lionel Messi's numbers are impossible

Posted: 20 March 2017 Time: 13:14

Barcelona manager Luis Enrique lauded the 'amazing' Lionel Messi after he netted a brace to help the club to a 4-2 win over Valencia on Sunday.

Messi slotted a penalty at the end of the first half, before scoring his second after the interval, following a pass from Javier Mascherano.

The goals took the Argentine past the 40-mark for the eighth consecutive season, and Enrique has expressed his gratitude for being able to witness the little maestro's talent.

"Amazing," he told a press conference when asked about Messi going past 40 goals again.

"He's broken all of the records and he will keep on breaking them. What a wonder to be able to enjoy him.

"His numbers are out of everyone's reach. Messi's numbers are impossible for anyone who is not him. We will miss them in the future."
