Steve Komphela: Kaizer Chiefs will never give up in title race

Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela refused to offer his take on the sentiment that the league is Mamelodi Sundowns' to lose this season.
Bidvest Wits mentor Gavin Hunt believes champions Sundowns have the inside lane in the title race, as they boast games in hand on fellow challengers Wits, Chiefs, SuperSport United and Cape Town City.
Komphela, however, was guarded when asked for his opinion following his side's 2-2 draw with relegation-threatened Baroka at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday.
"That was Gavin Hunt's [opinion] and I'm a very professional person. I don't comment about others. I'd rather comment to them, not about them," said Komphela.
"So if they have comments about us, it's good for them. But if we have something to share we'll share it with them."
While Amakhosi have drawn their last three league games after reeling off five straight victories, Komphela insists they still have everything to play for with nine matches remaining.
"If you look at the log, the last team I saw was Cape Town City and I think they drew with Bloemfontein Celtic, I don't know the other results," he added.
"Obviously it goes on and you cannot then immediately move into give up mode where you say, 'ey, we just drew', we still have matches to play.
"Just multiply those [games] by three [points] and mathematically look at the differences of points in the standings... it'll be very naive of us to think it is gone, never... we never give up."
The Glamour Boys next face Downs at FNB Stadium on April 1 after the international break.
