Ferreira: No 'situation' with Shongwe

Bidvest Wits Ceo Jose Ferreira believes people are making unnecessary noise about Jabulani Shongwe's situation at the PSL leaders.
The midfielder from Emalahleni in Mpumalanga has failed to make coach Gavin Hunt's matchday squad this season, despite making a total of 30 appearances in all competitions for the club last term, and even attracted interest from Orlando Pirates.
Ferreira, though, insists there is no 'issue' with Shongwe, saying every club have players who find themselves in and out of the team for any given reason.
"I don't understand what situation people are talking about, Jabu Shongwe is a Bidvest Wits player, period," Ferreira tells KickOff.com.
"And certainly I won't discuss such things with the media," replied the club chief when asked by this website if, as a club, they will be prepared to listen to offers for 'Jafefe'.
"[Pule] Ekstein is not getting enough game time at [Kaizer] Chiefs, has anybody asked Bobby [Motaung] about that? [Thabo] Qalinge is not getting enough game time at Pirates, [Thabo] Nthethe is not getting enough game time at [Mamelodi] Sundowns. People mustn't forget that we have 32 players at Bidvest Wits."
This website also asked Ferreira if the player was still in the club's plans.
"Yes, every player in our squad is in our plans," he says.
Meanwhile, Shongwe's agent Jazzman Mahlakgane admits that his client has never been short of interest and that his club are the ones who will determine his future.
"There's always been an interest [in Shongwe]. We all know about Orlando Pirates, but Wits were not willing to release him after the proposed swap deal involving Thandani Ntshumayelo fell through. The first option has already been exercised, so we'll see at the end of the season if they exercise the last option they currently have on him, then we will take it from there."
