KickOff.com has learned that veteran midfielder Solomon Mathe looks set to remain at Platinum Stars for yet another season following indications the club are happy with his contribution.
Mathe is amongst the top six appearance makers this season and as a senior player can be enlisted to deputise for Vuyo Mere as captain.
Though he hasn’t featured for Stars of late, the former Orlando Pirates midfielder has already made 16 appearances this season [15 starts plus one as a substitute].
Due to turn 37 in May, Mathe has been with Dikwena since 2010 and has grown to be an influential player at the club.
With his contract set to be extended for another year as reward for his displays and positive influence at the club, it means he is now set to play on until at least his 38th birthday.
Talks over the structure of extension are set to be stepped up in the next couple of weeks.
