Siboniso Gaxa admits Bidvest Wits will miss injured captain Thulani Hlatshwayo in their CAF Champions League first-round rematch with Al-Ahly, but he backs the squad to rise to the challenge.

Wits will host the Egyptian giants at Bidvest Stadium on Sunday [15h30] looking to overturn a 1-0 defeat from the first leg in Cairo last weekend.

"Tyson's [injury] is a blow for the club going to this match," acknowledges fellow defender Gaxa. "He is the captain of the club. He has been there, he has shown his qualities.

"We have capable players on the bench who can do the job as well. We are going to miss him obviously but what is important is that we have other capable players who can deliver on the day.

"Who ever comes in I just hope and wish he is going to do well. It's a team sport. We don't rely on individuals even though we know it [Hlatshwayo's absence] is a big blow for us. But hopefully who ever comes in will do a great job for the club," concludes the former Kaizer Chiefs right-back.
