George Lebese is pleased with Kaizer Chiefs' Nedbank Cup Last 16 draw

Posted: 16 March 2017 Time: 22:19

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder George Lebese says they are happy with their Nedbank Cup Last 16 draw that pits the 2013 champions against third-tier minnows Acornbush United.

Chiefs will travel to the Mpumalanga ABC Motsepe League side, who ousted Telkom Knockout winners Cape Town City in the last round.

Lebese admits his side will have to treat their opponents with “caution”, but says they are confident of progressing.

“We’re happy with the draw to be honest,” Lebese was quoted as saying on his club’s website. “Whether we get a PSL side or a team from the lower divisions doesn’t really matter, because when you play in a cup game anything can happen.

“From what I know about them is that they’re a good team in the ABC Motsepe League and we should approach the game with caution and give it our all to progress to the next stage.”

Acornbush defeated City 1-0 on Sunday, while Chiefs breezed past National First Division side Stellenbosch United 3-0 the day before.
