Kaizer Chiefs football manager Bobby Motaung is bemused by reports the club plan to secure the future of Wiseman Meyiwa by handing the national U-20 midfielder a professional contract.

According to Motaung this was done before the season started.

"It's the first time I hear about this," Motaung tells KickOff.com.

"According to my knowledge the player was promoted long before the season started, that's why I'm saying I don't know anything about us planning to promote him or offering him contracts because that was done a long time ago."

'Bobsteak' also dismissed rumours linking the Soweto giants with a move for overseas-based Bafana Bafana internationals Thulani Serero and Andile Jali.

"It's also the first time I hear about that as well, but let me just say we will make an announcement if anything comes up or happens."
