Ajax Cape Town have been boosted by the news that Toriq Losper should be back from a lengthy injury layoff by April.
The midfielder has spent the last five months in the infirmary with a meniscal injury he sustained in his left knee during the 1-0 defeat to Mother City rivals Cape Town City.
In the mean time, the Ikamva giants have gone their last five league matches without a win, while the lowlight of their campaign so far came in the penalty defeat to minnows KwaDukuza United in the Nedbank Cup.
However, the Urban Warriors have now revealed the 24-year-old is closing in on a return to full fitness, coming as a big boost after the club's rocky form this season.
Ajax's head of medical Jantho Greyling told the club's official website: “Toriq Losper is doing very well at the moment, he is sort of 75% there. He is seeing the specialist on the 22nd of March for his last follow-up and from there on we will probably be able to start going at 100 percent.
“He is currently at about 75 percent at his speed that he is doing at the moment so doing some cone drills etc. He is outside already, jogging and running. But we will probably know by the 22nd if he will be able to go full tilt.
“My prediction is that he will probably start to faze back into First Team training from April onwards so that is where we sit with Toriq Losper at the moment,” Greyling concluded.
