Thobani Mncwango in dark over Polokwane City future

Posted: 14 March 2017 Time: 16:22

Sidelined Polokwane City striker Thobani Mncwango is unsure if he will play for the team again this season.

Mncwango, who is contracted to City until 2018, has been suspended by the club and is awaiting clarity on his future after last featuring in a 1-1 draw with Maritzburg United on February 2.

Mncwango is reluctant to discuss his situation, as was former Rise and Shine coach Luc Eymael prior to his resignation and subsequent move to Bloemfontein Celtic last week.

"Ask Luc Eymael, he'll tell you because he knows my problems and I don't want to talk about it," Mncwango tells KickOff.com.

"He left the club because I was not playing and the club doesn't want me to play. I think the coach was told by the club not to play me again but Eymael wanted to play me.

"On top of that, I don't talk to the chairman [Johnny Mogaladi] and it's not like we don't get along but we just don't talk to each other.

"I don't train with the team but we'll see what the future holds because I still have a contract with the club, so there's nothing I can do. I'll only be guided by the club on what they decide to do."

He adds: "It is possible that I may not play again this season. Nothing that I can do, as I said, but I need to remain strong like a man.

"My family obviously knows about this and they are not happy with the situation. To tell you, we [are] all powerless as there is nothing I can do because I've a contract until 2018 and I have to remain like this."

Mncwango has netted three goals in 14 Absa Premiership outings this season, having attracted attention with 13 league goals last term - one less than Golden Boot winner Collins Mbesuma.
