Thabo Matlaba in attempted hijacking explains agent

The agent of Orlando Pirates defender Thabo Matlaba has explained the gun incident involving his client over the weekend.

Sunday World reported on Sunday that Matlaba was involved in a shooting incident in Tembisa, which resulted in one of the victims being hospitalised.

While it was alleged that Matlaba got into a brawl, his representative Abel Rasimphi has since revealed that it was in fact an attempted hijacking of the Bucs defender's vehicle in Phomolong.

"They were trying to hijack his car. Fortunately a police car was passing by and the suspects ran away," Rasimphi tells KickOff.com. "There were no injuries, and the player is fine."

Matlaba previously lost his car a few years ago, after his twin brother was hijacked in Pretoria. The car was never recovered.
