Zuke: No room for complacency

Chippa United’s Sandile Zuke hopes history does not repeat itself as his side prepare for a clash against lower league opposition in their Last 32 Nedbank Cup encounter on Wednesday.
The Chilli Boys were drawn against National First Division side Witbank Spurs, with the omens not looking good for the Port Elizabeth club: they have lost to lower league opposition in the Nedbank Cup for the past two seasons, exiting the tournament at the hands of Baroka FC last year, and Natal United the previous season.
And Zuke knows his team cannot be complacent against their opponents, who sit ninth in the NFD standings.
“Chippa United will not underestimate Witbank Spurs,” he is quoted as saying on his club’s website.
“Teams from the lower leagues double their efforts against Premier league sides so there will be no room for complacency on Wednesday.
“Spurs will not be different and they will come here with an intention to cause an upset, and we must be ready for them.
“It is an important game and we must do all we can to proceed to the next round.”
Zuke insists his side will treat this encounter like any other as they go in search of their first win in six games.
“We want to win every game, that is always our intention,” he said. “We are going with the same mentality and attitude come Wednesday. We want to proceed to the next round.”
Kick-off at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium is set for 19h30.
