Baloyi proved an instrumental figure for Chiefs in midfield, allowing his team-mates’ free-flowing attack to overwhelm the hosts.

And, speaking after the Ke Yona win, a jubilant Baloyi told Chiefs’ official website: “I am just happy to have been given the opportunity by the technical team to play and contribute towards the team's success.

“The award is great and I have to thank my team-mates for helping me achieve this feat.”

There were also a few upsets in the last 32 this weekend, most notably as Premiership neighbours Cape Town City and Ajax Cape Town both suffered defeats at the hands of ABC Motsepe League opposition.
