Platinum Stars lost 1-0 to Vipers SC in a CAF Confederation Cup first-round, first-leg tie in Kampala, Uganda on Saturday afternoon.
Dikwena conceded a goal shortly after the break via Milton Karisa at St. Mary's Stadium, raising the pressure for the return leg in Rustenburg on March 18.
Cavin Johnson's men will first start their Nedbank Cup campaign against NFD side AmaZulu at Moruleng Stadium on Wednesday.
Johnson perhaps had an eye on this fixture, as he made five team changes from the side that beat Golden Arrows 2-0 in their previous league assignment.
The former SuperSport United boss brought in defenders Michael Mabule and Isaac Nhlapo, midfielders Solomon Mathe and Sipho Senne, and striker Ndumiso Mabena.
The men to make way were: Willem Mwedihanga, Enocent Mkhabela, Sibusiso Msomi, Ryan de Jongh and Gerald Phiri Jnr.
Stars: Mzimela, Mabule, Nhlapo, Mlilo, Zulu, Mere, Tshabalala, Mathe, Senne, Mabena, Ntuli.
Subs: Chibwe, Links, Sithole, Khunou, L. Mathe, Shilongo.
