SAFA have named the Bafana Bafana squad to face Guinea Bissau and Angola

Posted: 9 March 2017 Time: 11:25

The South African Football Association have announced the Bafana Bafana squad for the upcoming friendly internationals.

South Africa, who remain 62nd in the FIFA World Rankings and 13th in Africa, will do battle with Guinea Bissau and Angola later this month as they prepare for their 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign in August.

And, Owen da Gama - who has been tasked by SAFA with overseeing the team while they prepare to name a new full-time head coach - has since confirmed the squad.

Bafana will report for camp on March 19, before they fly to Durban on the 20th.

There are returns to the squad for Kermit Erasmus and Kamohelo Mokotjo, while South Africa Under-20 and Bidvest Wits star Phakamani Mahlambi and Luther Singh got their call-ups to the national first team.

A gaping exclusion in the squad sees not a single Orlando Pirates player named, following the Buccaneers' faltering performances this season.

Full Bafana Bafana squad:

Goalkeepers: Khune, Keet, Walters

Defenders: Mphahlele, Coetzee, Hlatshwayo, Mathoho, Gordinho, Thopola, Langerman

Midfielders: Kekana, Mnyamane, Dolly, Jali, Mokotjo, Mabunda, Furman, T Zwane, Serero

Forwards: Tau, Manyama, Mahlambi, Veldwijk, Erasmus, Singh
