Bafana squad announcement on Thursday for Guinea Bissau and Angola clashes

Posted: 8 March 2017 Time: 09:21

SAFA will on Thursday announce the Bafana Bafana squad to face Guinea Bissau and Angola in friendlies on March 25 and 28.

The press conference has been set for 11h00 at SAFA House.

SAFA last Friday said they would name the new Bafana coach this week.

Carlos Queiroz is now seemingly out of contention for the position due to contractual issues with Iran, while Herve Renard and Hugo Broos have also been linked with the post among others.

The job was vacated with the firing of Ephraim 'Shakes' Mashaba in December.

Shakes, who recently lost a bid to halt the appointment through the Labour Court, is disputing the grounds of his dismissal, with a CCMA hearing scheduled to end tomorrow.

There are suggestions Mashaba's former assistant Owen da Gama may oversee the national side until a permanent successor is appointed.
