KickOff.com can confirm that SuperSport United midfielder Cole Alexander could be out of action for a month with a fractured metatarsal on his right foot.
This website understands that the 27-year-old Cape Town-born player will have to undergo minor surgery to help aid his recovery, which will take at least a couple of weeks.
“I was playing with the fracture for a while but wasn’t feeling any pain, hence I didn’t think it was that serious,” Alexander confirmed to KickOff.com.
“The pain started getting severe and I had to go for a scan. The doctors confirmed that I broke my fifth metatarsal in my right foot.
“Needless to say it is very frustrating. Just when you think you can add value to the team and play regularly, this happens.
“But I’ve been there before and I just have to take it in my stride. But from a player’s perspective it’s frustrating.”

Matsatsantsa travel to the Orlando Stadium for tomorrow’s Absa Premiership clash against a struggling Orlando Pirates, who have new coach Kjell Jonevret still learning the South African ropes, sparking confidence in Alexander that his team-mates can pick a good result in their away fixture.
“I think this is the best time to play Pirates as they have a manager that needs to find his feet in the PSL,” he adds.
“That said one can see there’s improvement so we shouldn’t be over-confident.
"But we have a solid outfit that believes and fight for one another,” the former Ajax Cape Town player stated.
