Free State Stars' Serame Letsoaka puts Gordon Igesund friendship on hold for Highlands clash

Posted: 3 March 2017 Time: 14:20

Free State Stars coach Serame Letsoaka will put his friendship with Gordon Igesund on the backburner when Ea Lla Koto host fellow strugglers Highlands Park at Goble Park on Sunday afternoon.

Both teams are desperate for points with 11 games left, with Stars four points ahead of Highlands in the relegation zone.

Letsoaka assisted Igesund during his reign as Bafana Bafana coach which ended in 2014, and they subsequently worked together at SuperSport United before going their separate ways.

However, Letsoaka can not afford to let emotion cloud his thoughts this weekend.

"On the field there are no friends and off the field that is where the pressure is," he says.

"We'll be playing at home and our home support will make a difference in that game, and that is important for us.

"Playing at home we've got to make sure that we collect the maximum points. We are going to try to make sure that we come away with the win."

Letsoaka was recently boosted by the return from injury of club stalwart Paulus Masehe and Thokozani Sekotlong.
