Menzi Masuku disappointed with Chippa United result despite good individual display

Chippa United midfielder Menzi Masuku admitted his disappointment despite picking up the Man of the Match award against Golden Arrows.

Masuku set up both of Lerato Mazini's goals as the Chilli Boys surrendered their lead twice in the second half to earn a 2-2 draw at Sisa Dukashe Stadium.

The former Orlando Pirates winger credited his side's fight on the night, but admitted his disappointment with the result, while accepting the man of the match award as motivation for their next fixture against Mamelodi Sundowns.

"I think we came here, as a team, looking for a win after a dissapointing result against [Bloemfontein] Celtic, but it's a pity that we didn't get the maximum result," Masuku told SuperSport TV.

"But we fought very well as a team. I think this will motivate me going into the next game."

"The coach always emphasises to us, since we keep the ball, to make sure that we use the ball very well and not to be caught on counter-attacks.

"Since you saw most of the goals came from counter-attacks. I think I'm a bit disappointed that we didn't get the maximum result."

Chippa remain in eighth place, with 21 points from 18 games, with Maritzburg United, Orlando Pirates and Ajax Cape Town hot on their heels and still to play this weekend.
