Ajax Cape Town have revealed they have parted ways with Sameehg Doutie, just one month after he rejoined the Urban Warriors.
Doutie, an Ikamva youth academy product, returned to the Mother City club on a short-term deal in January following spells with Orlando Pirates, Bidvest Wits, SuperSport United and, most recently, in the Indian Super League with Atletico de Kolkata.
However, the club have now revealed they have “amicably” parted ways with the 27-year-old, who managed only two substitute appearances during his return to the Cape Town Stadium.
Ajax did not reveal the reasons for the player's exit, which was announced in a brief stateemnt on their website which reads as follows:
"Ajax Cape Town Football Club and Sameehg Doutie have today, Friday 24 February, officially agreed to amicably part ways.
"Doutie returned to the Urban Warriors on a short-term deal last month following spells with Orlando Pirates, Bidvest Wits, SuperSport United and Indian Super League (ISL) club Atletico de Kolkata.
"Ajax Cape Town would like to wish Mr Doutie all of the best in his future endeavours and thank him for his service to the Urban Warriors."
Doutie last managed just nine minutes for Ajax after coming on as a second-half substitute in the 1-1 draw against Polokwane City last weekend.
