Bidvest Wits' Thabang Monare laughs off Baroka coach Kgoloko Thobejane's threat

Bidvest Wits midfielder Thabang Monare has laughed off Kgoloko Thobejane's claim that Baroka can "easily" put four goals past the Students tonight.

Wits are challenging for the title, while Bakgaga - who just suspended their technical team - are fighting for survival at the foot of the topflight table.

However, this did not deter the typically brash Thobejane from insisting the Clever Boys are facing a hiding in front of their fans at Bidvest Stadium (19h30 kick-off).

Thobejane told KickOff.com: "To us they are not a difficult team to play against. We are not afraid of any team. The only team we are scared of is Baroka FC. The kind of boys we have now upfront are not goal shy. We can easily beat Wits 4-0. The last time they came here [Polokwane] we were on top of them the whole game. We failed to convert our chances but not this time. This time I have Maboke Matlakala and Jose Garcia."

Monare has taken the recently reinstated coach's comments with a pinch of salt, telling this website: "[Laughs] He's saying we gonna get four? It's always good to have positive thoughts about the game. You can't blame the guy. But at the end it all goes down in between the four boundaries."
