Highlands Park target 16 points from 12 games in relegation fight

Posted: 21 February 2017 Time: 09:22

Highlands Park director Sinky Mnisi believes gaining 16 points from their 12 remaining matches will preserve their top-flight status.

Highlands are second-from-bottom on the table with 14 points from 18 matches - a point above Baroka, who will contest their game in hand against title contenders Bidvest Wits at Bidvest Stadium on Wednesday.

Platinum Stars, who host champions Mamelodi Sundowns tonight, are two points above the drop zone, but have two matches in hand over the Lions of the North.

Mnisis insists the club is not worried that they will trade places with Baroka should Bakgaga get a point against Wits.

"We are not worried, not at all," Mnisi tells ahead of his side's visit of high-flying SuperSport United on Saturday.

"I'm not worried about any other team or whatever Baroka is doing. We just got to win our games, starting with the SuperSport game on Saturday. We are going out there to fight.

"There's still 12 games to play and 36 points to play for. We only need 16 points actually but we won't mind if we get 17."
