Baroka FC CEO Morgan Mammila has confirmed the suspension of head coach Jacob Sakala to

Sakala, who was appointed as Bakgaga coach only last month, was last week suspended together with his first assistant Edward Williams and technical director Mark Harrison after apparently refusing to sign a letter assuring that the team will win their next four league games.

Kgoloko Thobejane, who stepped aside when Sakala was brought in, will now resume command of the team for Wednesday’s clash against Bidvest Wits, with Mammila confirming the news to this website.

"Yes, he [Sakala] is suspended,” Mammila tells

"The thing is, it's still an internal matter, so it will be unfair for the team and them [Sakala, Williams and Harrison] to reveal all that at this stage."

Mammila says, at the moment, Thobejane will help carry the team forward, starting with the tough encounter against third-placed Wits.

"Kgoloko will be temporarily in charge.”

Mammila did, however, refuse to call this the end of Sakala’s reign at the club. “Remember, being charged doesn't mean you are guilty so they are not guilty yet. The case will be some time in March."

Mammila says he will not reveal if the trio's suspension goes without payment.

"We still respect them and their rights even though they are on suspension, so we can't say at this stage if they are suspended with or without pay."
