SuperSport United scraped through in the Caf Confederation Cup with a narrow 2-1 win over Madagascan outfit Elgeco Plus at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.
Having played to a 0-0 draw earlier in the month at the Stade Municipal de Mahamasina the Pretoria-based side were primed to progress.
Things got off to a great start for Matsatsantsa as Brockie was brought down in the area and dusted himself off to step up and convert the spot kick on the 13th minute.
The New Zealander then had an opportunity to put his side further in front but shot over after connecting with Phala's cross.
Just before the half-hour mark the visitors restored parity with an excellent goal but minutes later Fagrie Lakay had his first goal for the club to restore their advantage.
In the second period SuperSport had the lion's share of the chances but always remained in danger of letting the tie slip with their opponents only needing a single goal to progress on the away goals rule.
However, SuperSport were able to hold on despite a few worrying moments.
