Orlando Pirates have received a boost with the return from injury of goalkeeper Brighton Mhlongo and midfielder Mpho Makola ahead of tonight's showdown with Cape Town City.
Mhlongo has recovered from a hamstring complaint, sustained in the team's goalless draw with Platinum Stars last week.
He consequently missed the club's record 6-0 loss to Mamelodi Sundowns and 2-1 defeat to Bidvest Wits, with his replacement Jackson Mabokgwane earning a suspension after getting sent off against the Students.
KickOff.com understands that Bucs' precarious situation in the poles may lead to Nigerian signing Emmanuel Daniel entering the fray earlier than originally anticipated, although fellow gloveman Siyabonga Mpontshane has long been waiting in the wings at Mayfair.
Makola is also back in contention after sitting out the Clever Boys contest with a knock picked up playing against the Brazilians.
Meanwhile, caretaker coach Augusto Palacios is set to relinquish control of the 10th-placed side after tonight's match against the log leaders at Cape Town Stadium (20h15).
Club chairman Irvin Khoza earlier this week announced Palacios's successor will be named on Monday.
