Posted: 17 February 2017 Time: 16:23

Absa Premiership title hopefuls SuperSport United will have to make do without striker Bradley Grobler, who has undergone surgery on Friday.

Grobler has not featured since a 1-1 draw against Kaizer Chiefs back in November last year, due to a recurring groin injury.

The 29-year-old Bafana Bafana frontman has since confirmed that he will undergo an operation to sort out the issue that has plagued his 2016/17 season.

"So just to confirm I will be going for surgery today on an injury that has bothered me for a while now," said Grobler on his official Twitter page.

He later confirmed that he is expected to be sidelined for up to two months after the surgery, meaning he could possibly return only in May, when the season reason its climax.

SuperSport are currently fourth on the log standings, but trail leaders Bidvest Wits by just two points, while still having a game in hand on fellow title rivals Cape Town City and Kaizer Chiefs.
