Shakes Mashaba in battle to stop SAFA from appointing Bafana replacement

Posted: 15 February 2017 Time: 11:27

KickOff.com can confirm that Ephraim 'Shakes' Mashaba has rushed to labour court to stop SAFA from appointing a new coach for Bafana Bafana.

Mashaba took SAFA to the CCMA citing unfair dismissal after being sacked from the senior national team head coach position in December.

The former Orlando Pirates captain is demanding his job back, with his legal representative Claudio Bollo confirming that they rushed to the labour court yesterday in a bid to stop the association from hiring his replacement.

"We went to labour court yesterday to stop the appointment of a new coach until after the CCMA hearing. We are expecting the judgement next week Tuesday," Bollo tells this website.

Meanwhile, Bollo has also confirmed that the CCMA hearing is set for 7-9 March.

"We expect the hearing to take a few days, from 7 to 9 March. Remember the disciplinary case also took five days," adds Bollo.
