Chippa United coach Daniel Malesela says his side will have to be on guard when they host African champions Mamelodi Sundowns tonight at Sisa Dukashe Stadium in East London.
Sundowns were in devastating form this past weekend, thrashing Orlando Pirates 6-0 in a fan violence-marred contest at Loftus Versfeld Stadium.
Pitso Mosimane's side are playing catch-up in the league owing to their CAF exploits, and are starting to get some fluency as they last conceded a goal against Free State Stars in December.
Malesela, whose team earned admiration with their swift passing at the beginning of the season, believes his men are ready for the Sundowns juggernaut.
"We have to be, we have to be ready and you can't underestimate the fact that these are African champions with the quality players they have," says the former Downs skipper.
"But also we pride ourselves with the quality play that we have. It's not about individuals and it is not about the quality we display. We've come to the stage where we want to turn this obvious quality into results without underestimating them.
"I think it'll be a very tight match, depending on who handles himself well. Very tight match, small margin scoreline, so we hope it goes in our favour."
With the township of Mdantsane getting a rare sighting of topflight football, Malesela hopes his club's fans will embrace the occasion.
"I'm asking them to come, this is a once-off chance to see these teams. So let them come to see the players live and everybody live," adds Malesela.
"Bring the atmosphere that we always get in East London. Having said that, we've already won one game there and East London has always been our lucky place so we hope that luck continues."
The Chilli Boys will be missing Andile Mbenyane due to suspension, while Lerato Manzini is out as he continues his recovery from an injury.
