Arrows could appeal Msowoya red

Golden Arrows coach Clinton Larsen feels a review committee should be assessing decisions like the dismissal of new signing Chiukepo Msowoya.

Msowoya has endured a nightmarish return to PSL football, scoring an own-goal in a 5-2 loss to SuperSport United last week before getting sent off in a 2-1 win over Bloemfontein Celtic on the weekend.

The former Orlando Pirates and Platinum Stars striker received his second caution after a collision with Alfred Ngendane at Princess Magogo Stadium in which the Arrows man actually came off worse. To make things worse, his first booking was for simulation.

Larsen was puzzled by referee Phelelani Ndaba's decision to dish out the second card to the Malawian striker and indicated that he will look at the footage before deciding whether to appeal.

"This discussion has been going on for quite a while now for a review committee for such instances and it happens everywhere in the world," said Larsen, who will be minus Msowoya's services for the next two games through suspension.

"I don't know how we don't have it in place. We've been talking for way too long now and I'm sure that the powers that be need to make a decision."

Nevertheless, Larsen was pleased his side snapped a seven-game winless run in KwaMashu.

"We are very happy with three points. We needed to bounce back, it's been a rough five, six games for us.

"But playing at home we needed to reward our supporters who watch us with the win. Now we'll plan for the next game in a week's time against Free State Stars."
