Steve Komphela praised Siphiwe Tshabalala performances

Posted: 11 February 2017 Time: 23:15

Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela says he doesn’t know what Siphiwe Tshabalala is “having lately” but wants him to take more of it.

‘Shabba’ had another good game and scored an easy winner with 10 minutes left thanks to a great setup by right-back Ramahlwe Mphahlele.

REPORT: Shabba wins it late for Chiefs

Chiefs have now won their last four league matches in a row and are second on the Absa Premiership table, a point behind leaders Cape Town City.

“Compliment must go to the players even though there was a lapse of concentration when we conceded an equaliser,” Komphela said after the match on SuperSport TV.

“We can do better under such circumstances, we need to manage the game better but in terms of performance we can’t fault them, there was energy, there was excitement and also beautiful goals scored.

“I don’t know what Shabba is having lately and what he’s having he needs a super dose of that!

“Parker as well – Paez, the guy helps you through, he hardly loses possession, he plays intelligently, he runs into dangerous positions – and compliment must be given to them.

“But also Maritzburg United, you know how difficult it is to come here to Harry Gwala, but players were saying in the dressing room that they need to break this and they did it, congratulations to them.”
