Polokwane peg back Maritzburg

Polokwane City scored a late equaliser to draw 1-1 with Martitzburg United in an Absa Premiership clash at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Wednesday.

Rise and Shine did not make too many signings in January but Tlou Segolela made the starting eleven, with coach Luc Eymael sticking to the core of the team that got them to their respectable fifth position.

New Team of Choice coach Roger de Sa did not make too many changes to the Maritzburg team either for his first match since taking charge.

Mohau Mokate gave De Sa's side the lead in the 53rd minute and the visitors looked to be heading towards a first victory for their new coach.

However, the home team were awarded a penalty late in the game and Jabu Maluleke kept his composure to equalise in the 81st minute.

The result does little for either side, who are now sixth (Polokwane) and seventh (Maritzburg) on the table following Sundowns' 1-0 win over Bloemfontein Celtic.
