City crush hapless Highlands

Cape Town City FC slipped off the summit despite thumping relegation-threatened Highlands Park 3-0 at Cape Town Stadium.
The Citizens started the year with a bang, but Bidvest Wits' 5-0 annihilation of Ajax Cape Town on the same night saw the Students take over top spot on goal difference with 28 points from 14 games.
City started brightly, as their talisman Lebogang Manyama netted his 10th goal of the season with a curling effort from the edge of the area barely five minutes in.
Letsie Koapeng, a January signing from NFD side Stellenbosch, added a second goal on his debut in the 32nd minute.
Judas Moseamedi then sealed the rout in the 88th minute for the new franchise, who have played two more matches than the Clever Boys.
The Lions of the North remain in the drop zone, along with fellow promoted side Baroka FC, with 13 points from 16 fixtures.
