Wits explain Zulu's abrupt exit

Bidvest Wits CEO Jose Ferreira has explained the sudden sale of defender Pentjie Zulu.
Zulu completed a deadline day switch to Chippa United, after just seven months at Sturrock Park, on a three-and-a-half-year deal.
The former Jomo Cosmos fullback joined Wits in June last year, and managed just three starts for Gavin Hunt's side as he turned out for the Multichoice Diski Challenge side for the majority of his stay at the club.
Ferreira explained that the transfer was upon the player's request, and reveals that the club saw no future for him.
"He had asked to be released early in January, so we granted him his wish," Ferreira tells KickOff.com.
"We agreed to his request because we had no future for him. We already signed [Bokang] Thlone [from Free State Stars]. We released him for free; we got him for free as well."
Wits earlier confirmed the signing of Tlhone on a pre-contract, and the left wing-back is set to join The Clever Boys at the end of the season.
