Kermit Erasmus tastes defeat again at new side RC Lens

Posted: 31 January 2017 Time: 22:09

Kermit Erasmus will have to wait a little longer to taste victory with new club RC Lens after they were dumped out of the Coup de France by amateur club Bergerac Perigord on Tuesday.

Erasmus joined Lens on loan from Ligue 1 side Rennes this month and went on to make his debut on Saturday, a Ligue 2 game in which they lost 2-1 to Amiens.

Lens would have come into their cup encounter with Bergerac expencting to handily beat the fourth tier opposition but it wasn't to be as they lost 2-0.

Former Orlando Pirates striker Erasmus started the encounter but was withdrawn in the 52nd minute of the match at the Gaston Simounet stadium in Bergerac.

A header from Sébastien Bouscarrat in the first half and a stunning goal from Gregory Covin saw the underdogs through into the last 16 of the competition.
