KickOff.com can confirm that Golden Arrows have made a shock move for Nkosinathi Mthiyane, who will join on loan from Orlando Pirates until the end of the season.
Mthiyane, who joined Pirates at the start of this season from Chippa United, was said to be on his way back to the Chilli Boys after Bucs concluded a deal that saw James Okwuosa and Marc van Heerden heading to the Mayfair-based outfit.
Arrows CEO Gordon Masondo is excited to see the club capture the 28-year-old left-back, as well as with the return of Lehlohonolo Nonyane from injury.
"We have signed Mthiyane and as you know Nonyane is back from his injury, so on the left-hand side I'm home and dry," Masondo tells this website.
"Now I have two defenders and, at the same time, I've got two attackers – just imagine that. Mthiyane plays as the left-half and Nonyane can play as the left-back.
"If Nonyane goes up top, Mthiyane covers him, and when they both go up then you will smell danger. And Nonyane already likes attacking the box a lot, he doesn't need any second invitation."
Mthiyane excelled at Chippa last season, as he helped them to their first top eight finish in the PSL, but didn't play a single match for the Buccaneers due to injury in the first half of the season.
He joins Chiukepo Msowoya and Knox Mutizwa as club's new signings in this January transfer window.
