AmaZulu weighing up the signing of Ovidy Karuru

Posted: 24 January 2017 Time: 17:59 has learnt that former Kaizer Chiefs winger Ovidy Karuru is looking to return to South Africa by joining First Division side AmaZulu.

Karuru first arrived in the country after joining Chiefs at the beginning of the 2014/15 season, and made just five substitute appearances before leaving at the start of the current campaign.

AmaZulu coach Joey Antipas is looking to alleviate some of the pressure on veteran striker Siyabonga Nomvethe, who is now 39, to lead their front-line, with the Zibabwean now being assessed.

"Ovidy Karuru could be an AmaZulu player soon," a source close to Usuthu tells this website.

The Durban-based outfit are currently fourth on the First Division log standings, with 23 points from 15 games, and trail leaders Thanda Royal Zulu by 12 points.
