Nkosinathi Mthiyane has revealed to KickOff.com that he has not been told he will be re-joining Chippa United this month.
Chippa chairman Siviwe Mpengesi confirmed earlier on Sunday that his side had struck a deal with Orlando Pirates in which defenders James Okwuosa and Marc van Heerden would move to the Soweto giants, with Justice Chabalala, Donald Mokondelela, Sello Japhta and Mthiyane going in the opposite direction.
Pirates also announced they have recalled Thembinkosi Lorch from a six-month loan spell at Chippa.
Mthiyane, who joined Pirates at the start of the season from the Chilli Boys, hasn’t played an official match for Mayfair-based outfit in the first half of the campaign as he has been nursing an injury.
The 28-year-old was asked how does it feel to leaving the club without playing an official game, and the former Thanda Royal Zulu winger responded that he’s not aware that he will be returning to Chippa United.
‘’What you telling me is shocking and I’m not aware that I’m going back to Chippa,’’ Mthiyane, who sounded stunned, told KickOff.com.
‘’I can’t talk about something I don’t know of and I simply have no idea. Nobody has told me anything from the club.
‘’I have never spoken to Pirates regarding the move and as we speak I’m training with the club. We are in the mini pre-season training and I have heard nothing.’’
The former AmaZulu wing-back, whose place will now be taken by Van Heerden, was competing for the left-back position at Pirates with Thabo Matlaba, Patrick Phungwayo and teenager Tercious Malepe.
