Real Kings sign striker Thobani Kunene on loan from Platinum Stars

National First Division side Real Kings have re-signed striker Thobani Kunene on loan from Platinum Stars until the end of the season.

Kunene is returning to the club he helped gain promotion to the second tier with last term by plundering 31 goals.

The 22-year-old scored once in three outings for Dikwena against Orlando Pirates on September 27, having battled for game-time with fellow forwards Ndumiso Mabena, Henrico Botes, Bonginkosi Ntuli, Benson Shilongo and Kamohelo Mathe in Rustenburg.

Kings official Philani Ngidi expects much of Kunene once he reunites with coach Simo Dladla, who recently recruited MultiChoice Diski challenge product Mxolisi Sibanyoni and released 11 players.

"Thobani, actually we have just finalised his loan transfer agreement with Platinum Stars and he’s arriving this evening," Ngidi tells KickOff.com.

"I think he will give us what we expect from him and obviously the fact that he will work with the coach who knows him very well. The coach is actually the one who groomed him to be what he is today."

The Magic Boys are 11th on the log with 18 points from 15 matches, and will resume their campaign at home against FC Cape Town at Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium on February 11.
