Heartland crush Rangers

Two late goals, including one in injury time, helped high flying Heartland to an emphatic 3-1 road victory over Rangers that left the hosts crying blue murder.

Heartland saw Okey Nwadike's strike cancelled out by John Chibuike as both sides retired to the dressing rooms all square.

Damian Ude scored what looked like the winner on 88 minutes, and Joshua Obaje made the result safe in injury time.

The victory keeps Heartland in second place, two points behind Bayelsa United but with a game in hand.

Elsewhere champions Kano Pillars slumped to a 1-0 defeat at Wikki Tourists.

JUTH kept their survival hopes alive with a 1-0 win over Kaduna United and Gateway dropped back into the relegation scrap when they were beaten 2-0 by Ocean Boys.

I said a while back that Heartland are looking good. I guess this result proves it all too clearly. They need our support to excel in the CAF champions league like Enyimba did a few years back. Also I'd like to draw the notice of the national team selectors to a certain left footed player in Heartland's mid field by the name Stanley Okoro (I hope I got the name this time). This is a budding raw talent waiting to be nurtured to stardom. His confidence on the ball is fantastic & his ability to take on defenders is amazing! I said before & say it again, he reminds me of a young Amunike! To top it all, he looks very young (at least to me) & so has a great future ahead of him.
Over to NFF, coaches etc

Kickoff Editor, this is a step in the right direction. I hope you follow it up consistently. Thanks for the effort.

Up Heartland FC! We are moving forward. Thanks to coach Okey Emordi, one mistake with the national team should not stop your effort as a coach. You are a worthy coach in my book. We urge you to win the CAF Champions League again with Heartland. Nigeria Kwenu!
