Ajax Cape Town defender Mosa Lebusa has welcomed the current break as the players look to develop a closer bond with coach Stanley Menzo.
The Absa Premiership is currently on a recess as all eyes turn to the Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon, where the PSL is currently being represented by 13 players from various teams.
This comes as a positive for Ajax, according to Lebusa, who feels they have an opportunty to work closely with Menzo, who came in to replace Roger de Sa at the end of October last year, and gain a better understanding of his ideas.
“It [the break] helps in a sense that we get to do some of the things that we didn’t understand when the coach took over,” Lebusa told his club's website.
“So basically we [are] just adding to what we [have] been doing prior to the festive break."
The Urban Warriors are set to resume their campaign on February 7, when they visit title hopefuls Bidvest Wits, and the 24-year old hopes to continue their form from the end of last year, while he looks forward to facing his former teammate Granwald Scott, who joined the Clever Boys earlier this month.
“The mood is great in the camp, everyone is working harder than before. Yeah, we are looking forward to our first game this year. Hopefully we will continue where we left off," he added.
"We are also looking forward to play against Scott – we know him. He is a terrific player and I am happy he joined Wits.”
