Free State Stars midfielder Danny Venter has voiced his support for new coach Serame Letsoaka and feels he is the right man to steer the club to safety.
Stars recently appointed Letsoaka as a replacement for Italian coach Giovanni Solinas, who, as revealed by KickOff.com last week, parted ways with the club by mutual consent.
Venter is delighted to welcome the former Bafana Bafana assistant coach, and says his experience will prove beneficial to their hopes of avoiding the drop come June.
“We welcome the new coach Serame Letsoaka,” Venter told his club's official website.
“He brings vast experience in the team, he has been around and most importantly he knows the culture of the club having played and captain the team.
“He takes his job seriously, his preparations are on points and he certainly knows what he is doing.
“I have no doubt that he will do well in the team, of course with our support,” he added.
“We certainly want to move away from the relegation zone and we believe coach Serame is the right man to get this team out of the danger.”
Stars, who are currently in 14th – two points off the bottom, will resume the second half of the Absa Premiership season when they visit Kaizer Chiefs at the FNB Stadium on February 7.
