A round-up of South African players plying their trade abroad this past weekend.
There was no sign of Erasmus in the match day squad for Rennes. He has not played for the Ligue 1 club since a 7-0 cup mauling at the hands of Monaco in mid-December.
Masalesa’s match for Larissa against PAOK in Greece was postponed due to a poor pitch after snow.
After missing much of the winter break training due to document problems, Mokotjo was a substitute for FC Twente in their 3-1 loss at Vitesse. He came on after 74 minutes.
Having made his bow in the first team in a cup game last week, Mothiba was not in the match day squad for the Ligue 1 draw at home to St Etienne.
Pienaar is out injured and missed Sunderland’s latest defeat, a 3-1 home loss to Stoke City.
The young midfielder was again on the bench for Israeli side Hapoel Ra’anana this weekend.
Rantie was an early substitute for Turkish side Genclerbirligi, coming on after 20 minutes in their 3-0 loss at Kasımpaşa.
Surman played the full game for Bournemouth as they lost 3-1 at relegation-threatened Hull City.
Zungu was an unused substitute for Portuguese side Vitoria Guimaraes in their 0-0 draw at Feirense.
