Highlands Park ready to ship Auguston Leonard out on loan for the rest of the Premiership season

KickOff.com can confirm that Highlands Park have indicated their desire to send Auguston Leonard out on loan for the rest of the Absa Premiership season.

Leonard has fallen out of favour with new head coach Gordon Igesund, who has since indicated the midfielder be shipped out to another club for the remainder of the current campaign, along with Simphiwe Tshabalala.

KickOff.com spoke to Larry Brookstone, one of the directors at Highlands.

“The coach is willing to send him (Leonard) out on loan but the club has not been approached by any club. Maybe there have been clubs that have spoken to him in person but not us at the club,” says Brookstone.

“He (Tshabalala) might go out on loan as there is talk for now of a possible loan deal. However, nothing is confirmed as yet,” says Brookstone.

Though he is still just 25, Leonard has been playing professional football since 2009, having broken through at Moroka Swallows before going on to play for Bloemfontein Celtic and Milano, before joining Highlands
