Ndiviwe Mdabuka aware of Ajax Cape Town expectations ahead of Bidvest Wits clash

Posted: 13 January 2017 Time: 12:03

Ajax Cape Town midfielder Ndiviwe Mdabuka believes the team's resurgence before the festive break put their PSL rivals on notice.

Ajax started the season poorly but won five of their last six games under new coach Stanley Menzo to rise to ninth on the table with 18 points from 15 fixtures.

The Urban Warriors will resume their bid for a top-eight finish against joint-log leaders Bidvest Wits at Bidvest Stadium on February 7.

“Yeah, I think there will be lots of expectations from us after we ended the first leg on a high note,” Mdabuka told his club's website.

“Now we need to continue where we left off in order to end up in a better position on the log table. Opponents will be watching us based on our good run before the break.”

He added: “We are all safe as we come from the Christmas break. We just started our first session on Tuesday this week and everybody looks fresh, so I can safely say we started 2017 very well.

“We are looking forward to the match against Wits away.”
